Safety centre

Dating and community should feel safer when you live nearby. Here are the tools, numbers and honest guidance we live by.

Tools built into Sektrr

  • Verified residents only: every profile passed a residence check before it appeared.
  • Privacy by default: your tower, floor, flat number and exact distance are never shown to anyone.
  • Hide anytime: pause your visibility instantly without deleting anything.
  • Block and report in one tap: blocking is immediate, silent and permanent unless you undo it.
  • Human review: every report is read by a trained person, not just an algorithm.
  • Frictionless exit: delete your account in a few taps, no retention tricks.

If something goes wrong

  • 112

National emergency number. Use this in immediate danger.

  • 1091

    Women's helpline.

  • 1930

Cyber crime helpline, or report at cybercrime.gov.in.

  • Report in the app, or write to safety@sektrr.com. Safety reports are prioritised over everything else.

Before you meet in person

  • Chat long enough to feel comfortable; there is no rush when you live minutes apart.
  • Meet first in a shared or public space, such as the society cafe, clubhouse or a nearby restaurant, rather than either home.
  • Tell a friend who you are meeting and when.
  • Keep your flat number private until trust is earned, even after you match.

What we do not do

We verify residence, not character. We do not run criminal background checks, and no app can guarantee how a person behaves. Our community guidelines set the standard, and we enforce them, but your judgement is still your best tool.
